"The greatest gift my dad gave me is the gift of possibility. Join me in passing this gift on to others." Sheri Reid - Executive Director, Reid Family Foundation.

For 10 years, as Executive Director, I have been managing our museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan. I'm not sure if your club has visited us before but, we have hosted countless car club meetings and tours at our museum. We have about 3000 scale replica models of cars, trains, ships, steam engines, traction engines and planes. Most are working models that were built by hand. There is a video on our website at www.reidff.org which shows our collection.

Anyway, my dad spent over 35 years acquiring the museum collection and opened it to the public free of charge in 2001. He hoped that by sharing his collection with the public, he would ignite a passion for the wonders of engineering in current and future generations. After seeing the 1000's of people, young and old, tour the museum collection, I am confident that my dad's wish came true.

Last May, my dad passed away. Now, I must sell his beloved museum collection and am trying my best to carry on his legacy and passion. I will do this by funding the Reid Family Foundation (which my dad founded) with the money from the sale of the museum collection. Then, I will make grants to youth and education going forward.

I would be very grateful if you would help spread the word of this sale to people who may like to participate. Below is a link to a video with highlights from the collection.

Sorry to hear about your father's passing, he sounded like a very caring / great man.

I had absolutely no idea this had existed and I'm literally bummed I never made it to the museum. Thanks for sharing the link, I'm hoping to bid on a couple of the items.

Thanks, Joe for the kind words. My dad was so passionate about the automotive industry…even with all the ups and downs, he was a die-hard fan. I'm sure you will find a treasure to add to your own collection. Since you are local, you are welcome to come tour the museum. We are at 2550 Auburn Ct. Auburn Hills, MI. We are also having a "Museum Sale" on June 20-21 at the museum. That's where you can buy something on site and take it home with you. There are lots of photos on our website. Feel free to contact me at (248)766-3738 with any questions.

Many people have never heard of our museum (Museum Bronze) because I chose to spend the money on educational grants for kids instead of on advertising for the museum. We relied on word of mouth and still had thousands of people visit.

I look forward to meeting you.

Here's another "tease!" LOL!

MOTORIZED SCALE MODEL 1957 LANCIA 801 F-1 FERRARI GRAND PRIX CAR SIGNED BY FANGIO

Fangio was World Champion with Enzo Ferrari's team in 1956, and beat this car a year later racing with Maserati. Presented in custom wood and glass display case with table base.
