Ever been on a Cruise?

The balcony will be really nice, unless a 100ft rouge wave hits that side of the ship....:run: jk...kinda..haha I liked the gym a few hours before dinner. If you are a morning person, you can sign up for a more personalized "class" for yoga, spin, etc...Some are in the gym area, some are actually on the beach of your current port. Check the schedule and they're usually free(tip the trainer/instructor at most). They provide a LOT of photo opportunities, especially on formal nights if you're into pics.

Our forward cabin was nice because it was far from the engines but you could feel it rise and fall slightly...On a stormy day, the pool was sloshing around a lot..I dug it.:) I only seen one small kid get sick.

St. Thomas...if you have time for lunch, take the gondola ride to the top of the island. There's a small bar with a great view of the port. Frozen drink/fish and chips...good stuff.

Cruises are amazing! Have fun, try to meet lots of people! It makes it more fun! I ended up going with some friends, we meet up with a few other people and ended up hanging out the whole time with them. Its a really really great time! Youll never get tired of eating free food whenever you want either...hahaha

Have fun!

We went on a similar RC cruise on our honeymoon, except it was Kayman Islands, Cozumel Mexico, Jamaica, etc. It was the best vacation I've ever had, had tons of fun. Snorkeling was my favorite part.

Ours was almost 10 years ago, but tips I can think of are:

1. Do NOT eat or drink anything at any foreign port. Only stuff from the ship.

2. Make sure you budget a lot of money for drinks on their "Supercharge" card. When I went it was all-inclusive except for drinks. They have some high octane ice cream drinks that are very very good when it's hot out and very expensive.

3. If stopping in Jamaica, do not try to bring any mary jane back on to the ship.

4. Be ready to eat! The food is great and it is possible to have over 15 meals per day if you plan it right. Anytime my wife was sleeping, I was eating or gambling.

We did the same one, it was a blast. I don't think I was on that boat for 15 minutes before I was lit and stayed that way until I got off. I found a bartender who was Jamaican I think. I called him "Plenty Rum" because every time I went up to himI handed him my card and he handed me some enormous drink and said: "Plenty Rum Maaaan, haha." He was my buddy. :D

Enjoy yourself! And if you go to Jamaica, do 'Dunns River Falls." Absolutely gorgeous.

Royal caribbean line is sweet, we go every two years. just sign up
for Jan.2010 on the oasis, check out the site over 5000 people

anyone ever smuggle alcohol onto a royal caribbean cruise? I mean upon first boarding? Someone we're going with bought http://www.rumrunnerflasks.com/ lol, I hope it works!

and that gondola ride on st. thomas sounds like a must do!! That sounds great!! :)

Our friends thought this would be a good way to save some money. The problem was that we were normally hanging out at the adult pool. This was a several minute walk from our room. They spend more time going back and forth to their room than drinking. My advice it to sit back and enjoy the waiters bringing you whatever you need.

Or, buy the biggest mouth wash bottle you can find, empty them, put in alcohol of your choice. Put one in your suitcase...and someothers in other suitcases. Or two in your suitcase..haha..wahtever!

It works!

i went on a cruise and it was the best vacation ever... it had everything... just remember that room service serves beer all night... also sign up for some of the excursions... most of them are pretty fun

see...my problem is, Ill be 20.5 lol... not 21..... so that is why we are smuggling.. everyone else is 21+, so people are saying they can buy and just hand it to me, but Im scared. On the shore I can drink but on the ship I cannot.

alright I want to go on a Caribbean cruise, i want to chillax on the beach, swin with dolphins, ride jetskis in the ocean.

It seems royal Caribbean is the way to go, which islands? Jamaica is off the list. Mexico seems to be run by drug gangs now.
Do I go east, west, or southern Caribbean?

I'm thinking 5 or 7 day cruise.

Also, what is the best time of the year to go? I don't want to go during summer. what is peak tourist time?

We did one on Carnival for our honeymoon and had fun. We picked a seven day that had four stops (Belize, Cozumel, Routan, St. Thomas I think); I'd rather go to more places than stay in one place more than a day. Make sure you give yourself time at the airline, our trip was a nightmare. The direct flight ended up getting cancelled, the rerouted flight through memphis was delayed so we missed our connecting flight, then after about three hours of arguing with the airline they put us up in Memphis for the night and flew us through Houston to Belize to catch the boat at the first stop. The memphis airport was closed due to a hurricane about an hour after we took off. They didn't pay for the night at Belize however. We booked through a travel agent and I think that's the only way that everything worked out, I think we would have been SOL if we didn't have her calling everybody and getting it taken care of.

Did my first cruise last year and cannot wait to do another one. I'm not sure I could do any less than 7 days. I didn't want to leave. I'd only do it in colder months to make yourself appreciate it that much more.

We did the 7 day South Caribbean out of San Juan
St. Thomas - great island, go to magens bay beach
Dominica - stay on the boat or do a waterfall tour, beaches suck
Barbados - great beaches, did the pirate party cruise, tons of fun
St. Lucia - great beaches
Antigua - great beaches
St Kitts - beaches suck stay on the boat or just shop in town

Have fun!

Been on 3, And i love them had to pass on the fam one the last time, but im going to book one in the next year or so...... its better to go with friends

Cruises are a blast been on one, going again the end of this year.

8 days is a lil much in my book. I went on a 5 day and it was a really really good time! You have to go to all the social events, captians party, some offer skits, plays, movies, I was on carnival and they did alot of "activity stuff". There was also dancing every night on the lido deck which was awesome, they move all the sun chairs off and it was a huge dance floor with a pool and two hot tubs in the middle.

point being you have to make it fun, you'll will be bored if you do go interact and meet people. Most people there are there to either party or be lazy.. find the partiers I ended up meeting up with a group there from california that was a small wedding party that all went on a cruise together, made for a really ineresting time.

Put everything in mouth wash bottles, the liquor and leave it in your stow away luggage.

They say they "search you bags for alcohol"... I took 4 fifth's on my cruise with me, put them in crest mouth was jugs then in two zip lock bags each.

2 bottles in my bag and two went in a friends..

Then you can also use the free pop, juices to make mixed drinks :1syellow1

You should have no problem drinking on the boat either, I got my lil sister and her friends smashed a few nights and they were only 19 at the time.
