escalade is over heating

On my way home from the Dr today my Escalade started to over heat. I have checked coolant level, It looks like coolant is moving. The issue happens at any speed, the faster I go. I have run cold water on the radiator that doesn't lower temp. The fan is working. Not sure what else to look at suggestion appreciated.

Truck got to almost 260 andcomputer said engine was over heated.... but it didn't push any coolant out or smell hot. Could it be a bad sensor?

Going to change thermo stat today, I'll warm it up some and try my infrared thermometer

Why would he want to go slower?

Maybe the thermostat is bad, those tend to be a little junky.

if it takes a long time to get up to temp and them doesnt level off the thermostat is the prob. if it warms up like normal and then over heats i would say maybe the water pump isnt cycling properly

The thermostat Cracked, anyone every seen this before , I have not in the 30 years I have been working on cars
