Epoxy flooring?

Hey guys,

I'm currently getting my floors in my basement finished and we're getting apoxy painted on it tomorrow, with a clear sealant coat laid on top of it on Thursday. Got a few questions for you (keep in mind that 1. the process is already happening, no turning back and 2. We're not paying for it)

I'm 36 wks pregnant and the guys doing the floors said it isn't a good idea for me to be around when they lay down the clear coating. Luckily I have class that day so i'll be out of the house for 1/2 the day. Is it really that toxic that I shouldn't be around it? How long would it take for the smell to dissipate so it's safe for me to come back? Keep in mind I also have a 20 month old who will be leaving with me on thursday...

I heard that we might have to spend the night elsewhere... seriously???

Thanks for the help!

No clue how long it will take for the smell to dissipate. But I would open some windows and air it out. I painted my basement with some drylock and didn't wear a mask the first day. That F'ed my sinuses up for a week! After that week, I was able to get back & finish the basement wearing a respirator to avoid breathing the fumes.

Oh and Ninja edit for ya. ;) Sometimes Mod powers can be used for good. :D

Well, I had to let you guys know it was a woman writing it SOMEhow... You know, aside from the pregnant thing...

I refinish wood floors and I would look for a water based product. it will still mix in two parts, but they will be less nasty...
