GM 3.4L lower intake gasket failure

Change oil at 55k
Check engine light has been on prior to last oil change.
Smell something foul for along time coming from the motor
Oil change at 70k (cannot prove oil has been changed since 55k mark)

The intake gasket blew the lady stated she had smelled something "foul" as she put it. The intake and oil mixed for about 15k miles she never checked the oil and said the check engine light had been on for a while. It was noted at 55k the check engine light was on but she did not want to have it checked out. Thats the story I got from the tech. The motor locked up and would not turn over, she had it at a different shop, they put a starter on it and told her they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start and to take it to the dealer.

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours

common, though it seems like if you get them soon, and use the felpro gasket, it is fixed 90% of the time, the other 10% need head gaskets within a year

^The Dorman gasket kit is is cheaper and also very good, includes new bolts too. Only available for the 3.4 though IIRC.

Really? never had one fail yet-looks identical to the Fel-Pro kit, rubber lined steel gaskets. I've only been using the Dorman ones the past year.

See what happens when you don't check your oil? Sadly I have to say that's not the first, second, third, or fourth time I've seen that

My last engine was always like that. It wasn't a gasket in my engine, the coolant was going up the threads of the head studs. When the engine was warmed up you'd see the coolant dripping from every head stud. Milkshake sucks.
