where can i get my engine block hot tanked or dipped? Also how bout a DYI? I have heard some people soaking their blocks in castrol superclean and water solution. It is a Chevy small block btw.

Power washer hooked up to the hot water tank in the house has been my method for a few years. I use a engine wire brush cleaning kit with just soap and water, power wash it with hot water. wash it again with clean soapy water, rinse with power washer adn hot water. Then dry it with my torpedo heater.

sounds like a good way to go.

The best way to prep it is to put it in a oven and bake it-then have it shot peened.
Most good engine builders have this equipment.
If you need a number for someone that does it PM me.

I can't remember the name of the place, but there is a shop on Gratiot between 10 and 10.5 mile on the west side that does it, unfortunately i don't get down that way often, i think it is called Automotive suply company? Shares the same building with Bills transmissions, just south of Tim Hortons and Michigan Driving schools. Google maps is my friend..
