Electric impact questions

OK... While installing my lift kit, I borrowed my neighbor's Snap-On electric impact and was pretty impressed with it's performance over my air powered impact.. but about shit my pants when he told me how much it was. He bought it right off of the truck, as a 3 tool set around $1500... I can't justify that.

So... it looks like I can find the same one used on eBay around $350. Am I better off trying to snag a deal on eBay for a used Snap-On CT7850... Or is there something that I can buy new in the $300 range that's nearly as good and would come with the benefits of a warranty, etc?

Or am I still way overpaying and is there a $100-$200 18v 1/2 impact that hangs with the expensive ones?

I have a 7850 its a monster, the new lithium stuff is impressive, The miluwaukee 18 fuel brushless stuff is nice same with the IR cordless stuff

I have a 7850 that ive been considering selling, Its still under warranty so I would send it out for a once over before selling. I wanna get the 8850

theres nothing under 200 worth a shit, if you dont need cordless get a corded impact

I have a snap-on 18v 1/2" drive and love it, makes swapping wheels/tires a breeze. I use it for damn near everything.

also depending on what you are doing, alot of the new 3/8 guns will yank lugnuts easily, I only use the 1/2 for headbolts in the junkyard

Another vote for the Milwaukee stuff. I have a drawer full at work and it's all great. Plus, one charger for everything I have.

I've got a Dewalt 20V Max 1/2 impact that is around the $300 mark. Works great and runs on the same batteries as most of my other tools.

I have the Makita 3/8 impact and its impressive. The Milwalkee stuff is insane as far as power. We use them here at work too. If I were in the market, I would go Milwalkee hands down.

The Snap-on 1/2 electric impact is a BEAST for high torque as well. I wouldnt stray too far from any of these 3 brands.

Hands down the best cordless impact on the market today. I used to test these in real world scenarios, nothing has the hitting power of this impact, the Milwaukee is a strong second place unit and both units are miles ahead of the dewalt and any other brand on the market.

Note: I was a power tool prototype test tech for MAC tools for 4 years.

The Milwaukee Fuel 1/2" impact is stronger than the IR. I've tested both removing subframe bolts.

My Dewalt 18v is a beast it takes off all the lug nuts on my 2010 Camaro no problem on one battery and they are 140 lb ft.

Best of all I got the whole thing(case charger and 2 batts) for $65 on clearance at HD.
