EGR backpressure transducer

On a 97 cobra, egr backpressure transducer wtf is it for or do?
I found one of the lines split.

Who cares.. its EGR, get rid of it.

It allows the ECM to calculate the EGR flow from the pressure drop across the EGR supply tube. If you don;t have it programmed out replace the hoses with High Tempature Silicone Hoses. I would suggest doing both of them. The best fix is to go to the dealer and buy 2 new hoses. They are fairly cheap IIRC under $40.

so now I just need to decide if I want new hoses, or sh*t can all the egr stuff.

If the car is a daily drive having the EGR will help increase fuel mileage, if it's a performance vehicle and/or you want the ugly EGR gone then just get rid of everything.

not a dd, Im doing a vortech s/trim install & Im finding little BS things like this.
I think Dan @ livernois turned all the smog stuff off in my old tune.From when I did my header install.
