Ecoboost F150 ppl come inside

Drive 100 miles a day, and tell me how much you love driving your truck then.

Then when there is 6" of snow, and I blow by you and your almighty truck because you thought you were a badass and put it in the ditch, I'll be waving at you, with one of these :loser:

Then when there is a 12" of snow on the ground, I'll come by and pull you out with my Superduty. :D

Lol smartass!!!

Lol...I used to drive 75-100 miles per day. And???

Also, I lived in the U.P. and northern Wisconsin my whole life. I've driven through more snow than you can imagine. Much of it in a 4x2 F-150.

And your nose-heavy Super Duty is nothing to brag about in snow. Been there...done that...since' 86. They're pigs unless you're in 4wd.

So enjoy your econo death trap and your SD. I'll enjoy every minute of my F-150.

Actually since this past winter was the worst winter since 1880, I doubt that. Death trap? You must be one of those retarded morons that thinks since you are in a smaller vehicle you will die. I've driven econo bombers for dailys since Ive got my license. And most accidents Ive ever seen involve a pickup or SUV, and alot are fatal accidents. try again dude

Winter 1988-89 at Michigan Tech...323" snowfall. Spent five years up there and that was my first winter. So think again. Winters down here are chicken-shit. Last year was actually bad around here...relatively speaking.

Was a Crash Test Engineer for over 9 years at an OEM. I've run the tests, done the calculations and seen the data. You can keep your small vehicle.

Anybody running a k&n cai on the trucks? I might wanna get one for my dad, just wanna hear from ppl that have this on there trucks. Thanks

I know many ppl like the AFE kit (300 used or 450 new) and the S&B kit has had some GREAT reviews.

If you get the AFE MAKE SURE you get the 2012-current so the air sensor fits. 2011 had a completely different sensor. I think the AFE looks pretty cool and you can hear the turbos but everyone keeps saying that a CAI without a tune isnt worth the money. I just cant get myself to tune the truck (yet)

yea my dad won't wanna do a tune on it. But we'll see I guess I might just buy it for him still.

We did a shitload of dyno testing when I first got my truck. We tried every air filter/airbox/CAI setup out there up to and including big stuff that wouldn't even fit under the hood. Never saw one more HP out of any setup. They just made more noise. Went back to the stock airbox with the stock filter. I believe that Full Race came to the same conclusion with theirs and at one point they were making something like 600hp.

I went with the afe set up. I liked the look of it the mostly. Little more noise when you start it up and in the go pedal. I like it a lot better now that it has a tune, and down pipes.

I agree, it does look really cool. I wanted it to work sooooooooo bad. But it didn't make any HP:-(

Rick from livernois, well used to be from livernois, told me tune, down pipes. Is where the most improvement was seen, then catback was a few and Cai. There was a dyno proven power gain but it wasn't much. Not to bother. And it required the tune and downpipes to see it.

That's my best memory of that conversation from over a year ago when I got the tuner from them

With a tune, downpipes, cat back, CAC pipe and a big TB I saw zero HP with multiple CAI's.

I have a CAC pipe on its way. Too good of a deal to pass up. If it helps, ill be happy.

I think everyone is in denial with CAIs on newer cars, im not really sure that they yield much more power on any cars produced anymore.

What CAC pipe did you get?

My tuner made mine up (on his dime) after he saw the stock one ballooning on the dyno. I doubt it moves anymore air but he did run it so the fans aren't blowing right on it and it has a bunch of heat shielding. I'm sure it doesn't hurt.

Yeah, people love their CAI's!

Anyone run their truck at the track with any mods?? Just wanna know if they are worth the$$ I know a programer will make some hp but it also can void the warranty.

5min behind the wheel of my truck and you will be modding yours.:headbang:

Seriously, I'm in the A2/Ypsi area. Come drive it.

CAI on a boosted car is worthless. Your cap is on the hot side, boosted air. You compress air, it's going to heat up regardless of what you do it. Since most cars are water to air coolers, you're limited to the tstat temp for your charge air. So despite pulling "cold air" into a box, you're still going to heat it up with the compressing the air.

And on the 3.5L ecoboosts, you can try all you want, you will not be able to hear the turbos without serious modifications, a CAI is not one of them. You'll hear a placebo amount of air come through, which will make you think you hear the turbos, all you hear is the change in air flow in the box.

X2, I cannot believe it took me nearly 6 months to tune my SHO. I can't imagine driving with a stock tune now. It truly is night and day. I've got the livernois stage 4+
