I have a lightly modded Firehawk that I've been trying to tune myself with Hptuners and I've gotten nowhere but make it worse. I remember reading about a tuner everyone liked. I believe his name was Phil. Anyone know how I contact him? Thanks!

Phil just tuned my car yesterday and it's night and day better than the hack tune that was on the car when I bought it. Phil is the man.

What were you changing in the tune? Why do you feel you've made it worse? Are you using a WBO2 to tune with?

Let me start off by saying that I'm not much of a mechanic, but I always like to try and do things myself (sometimes not such a wise idea!). That being said, about 8 years ago I took on installing a cam (TR224/224), LT headers, and LS6 intake. At the time, I was just happy that it fired up after I was done. Anyway, since then, the car always had a bit of a surge cruising around town and smelled like it was running rich.

I lived with this for a few years (this is not my DD) and then starting reading about how to tune. So, me being me, bought HPtuners and a wideband. I tinkered with it a bit at a time, but never really dedicated the time to do it right. So, now I still have surging and it will also stall on occasion when stopping at a traffic light or turning into my driveway.

I've messed with the VE table, Throttle cracker and a bunch of other stuff I've read. I haven't messed with it since last summer so I'm a little fuzzy on specifics. At this point, I just want to drive it and enjoy.

Oh - I thought you said lightly modded as in a few boltons...not a cam'd LS1.

Well, Phil can definitely get 'er done for you.

If you ever wanna talk tuning and understand why it's been surging, stalling, etc., LMK and I can fill ya in. :)

Phil is a great tuner (and a Prick  ) no doubt, but we do have some sponsors that also tune.

Another vote for Phil. He did my buddy's car a couple days ago, and his work is impressive. Its nice to find someone at his level of expertise willing to explain what he changed, and why. Down to earth, and as professional as they come.
