I was thinking going 408 and hitting it with some NOS but i am not sure how much it will hold up 2 ? Its only a 2 bolt main, any suggestions or anything would be great, and sry if i posted in the wrong seciton ???

69-74 are the desirable blocks. They are a little beefier. They should handle around 650-700 no problem with a good tune. You can have the block machined for 4 bolt caps also a girdle if you really wanna be safe. Just the 69-70 if I read right have a deck height of 9.48 instead of 9.5.
There are ppl on here running well above that an have no issuses, then there are others that arnt so lucky. Rpms are another killer to. But most 351 blocks in general should handle 600 for the most part I would say but I'm not a proffesional so don't take my word to be truth. I just do a lot of reading now a days. I like google it's my friend!

Most of this is correct. Even the weakest 351w can handle 650hp all day long unless it's rattled hard or something. The stronger ones (69-74) can hold a lot more than that. The car in the passtime thread has a stock 2 bolt block in it. There's a grudge racer on this board who goes deep in the 8s on a 2 bolt windsor also. The pinks car went 9.2-9.4 with a stock 89 windsor block, which is one of the weakest ones.

My car has a factory 9.5 deck late model Truck Block. hence my id. The previous owner has been 9.70's with this setup. Now that I own it, it doesn't go 9.70's. anymore :secret: LOL
