dynamat

I need enough to cover under my rear seat bottom, and two pieces for the front floor pans, both for my Caprice. The exhaust boom is pretty bad.

So..

Under seat is ~4.5' x 2'
Front floor pan pieces are about 14" x 20"..

What are you getting in place of the Dynamat at 1/8 the price?

I get the matt from Elemental designs I get a huge discount through them I have had great luck with the stuff, you realize its not going to do much for the exhaust noise

Nope, didn't realize that. The exhaust is a bit boomy, at certain rpm's. The car is a bit noisy overall (road, wind etc), and I have one hole in the firewall I need to seal up. I had to fix some rust on the floorpans, so the mastic mats in the front area had to come up. I also had to cut back some jute from the underside of the rear seat area due to mouse piss.. So I figured I try to kill some of the noise by replacing the mastic I took out, and putting some in the rear of the car for the exhaust.

The ulitmate solution for the exhaust is a new system, while it's intact externally, I blew a few #'s of rust out of the mufflers when I fired the motor for the first time in 8 years this summer. I am pretty sure there are no intact chambers in the flowmasters...

Ultimately, I plan to put a used, but very low mile ATR system in the car, and add an x-pipe if it does not have it. When I can't hear my daughter in the back seat... the car's too loud...

I admit, my time in the auto industry has been more geared to making the noise than damping it..

ATR is out of buisness,. is this the caprice? if so caddy deville ususe the same carpet with alot more sound muffler,
