Any place in metro detroit to order a carbon fiber driveshaft for my 95 mustang?

Thank you

Edit: 1,000th post woooo

I'm not sure about in Detroit, but my carbon shaft is from PST. Be prepared to spend between $1,200 and $1,500 for the shaft though. I was advised to throw mine away every other year. I was advised to throw it away every year if I switch to big tires.

Carbon is generally not recommended for street cars. Although they are very strong torsionally they do not take impacts well. A hit from a rock or any road debris will crack and shred them

If I were you I would call Mark Williams and talk with them.

I don't see the benefit unless you are reaching the critical speed of the shaft and then carbon may make sense. I don't see it otherwise.

Of course, only my opinion and I could be way wrong.

I personally think it's a waist of money to use on a street car. I have witnessed 2 benefits when using a carbon shaft. When they blow up, they don't kill/injure you and don't destroy your car. Second benefit I have seen is it does help a smaller tire on the hit. The shaft will actually twist a little to absorb some of the hit and unwind itself was you start moving.

How much trouble would you think that I would be in to run this on the street?

I'm honestly not sure. I just feel you would be better off with aluminum or a chrome moly shaft. Would be less then half the cost of carbon too. You could use the extra $600-$700 you'd save to purchase other things for your car.

Street car I would go with aluminum. Contact Shaft Masters. They made both my driveshafts & my brothers driveshaft. 1350 joints too. excellent quality. 1000 HP through an aluminum shaft, no problems.

+1 regarding Shaft Masters. They are great guys, and have helped me more than once. They also built a nice driveshaft for Stormy81's car. Excellent prices, also.

If you are in Clinton Twp........I would go to CCI before going down to Lincoln Park.
