Drag Racing on Woodward

I hope they start the races 1/4 mile from the Railroad tracks and use their supercharged Charger to challenge someone with a Supra to a race. :)

It's not like they actually tech the cars to check on such things. Independent of the location, this year's event was certainly going to be harder to get registered for and look a bit different. If you aren't at your computer clicking the button when they open it up this year you won't get in. Last year I got in like 5 hours after they announced it was open.

Impossible. You can't drive, let alone race on ww on the friday of dream cruise, UNLESS it is WITHIN the M1 concourse area.\
But to race on woodward would be impossible.

Who said anything about Friday? Last year Roadkill nights was mid week. I would expect the same again. You'll have FCA working with Pontiac again to make it happen. When you have the support of a gigantic corporation and a municipality why can't a street be closed?

Oh shit, they did announce it as Friday. Woodward isn't actually busy during the cruise in that area anyway so that part doesn't matter. Although M1 Concourse could cause a major traffic shift for the Dream Cruise. That area wasn't busy because nothing was going on there. Now, something will be going on there.

Roadkill is Friday, plus theres a mopar lot right by there with 200 cars scheduled, for Friday and Saturday

I'm kind of surprised they moved it from being a mid week event where it was the total focus of everything going on to a Friday event when cruising is in full swing.

No trucks become a rule because of the diesels with boosted 4x4 launches that were kicking ass at the silverdome last year?

That's funny that the diesel in Pontiac prompted them to ban trucks.

I wonder if they will do a purse for Woodward too?

Maybe they banned trucks because Ram is its own brand now and they want the event to fit the Dodge brand image. That's the only reason I can come up with aside from not wanting 4WD trucks coming in and dominating.

Another good reason. I also think that banning "all trucks" is a little too general. Buddy of mine has a turbo'd 5.3 1974 Ford F100 that was basically built roadkill style and looks roadkill but now is banned because its a "truck."
