Downsides to screw in (NPTF) freeze plugs

Are there any downsides for usage on the street? I have a stock short block with them, and I run 50/50 mix. Is there anything else I need to do?

Thanks,

For the most part, they're superior in every way to press in plugs, whether they're NPT or straight thread with an o-ring. A dissimilar metal plug may corrode in place over time though. Other than that, I'm really not sure what your concern with these would be. :dontknow:

Is that standard on the Dart blocks?

I read some crap in the latest MMFF and they mention ford vs chevy style push in plugs and NPTF plugs. They opt for push in due to future street use, and stop there. Just made me wonder why?

That's what my Dart block has.

Street use = high abuse with no maint. So when/if something gets plugged and pressure builds it *might* pop that before it did the HG.
