Bummer, been there

I'd rather have a dented tailgate than have that stupid decal on my truck :haha:

yeah buddy hooked me up once put the tongue on the hitch and latched it thats it, no safety chains lights or anything hooked up lol found it when i got where i was going like WTFFFF!!!!!!!!!!

my dad pulled something like that once. shit popped off when he started driving down the road...

I got a dent like dat too. Mine happened while the tailgate was down. Also took out the tailgate handle...

i borrowed a pop up for ignace from a friend and he didnt get it on the ball enough before he latched it. half mile down the road it popped off, thankfully I had the chains hooked up and they kept it it check

I was taking my sea doo out once couple years ago. I was going down a street still in my neighborhood that is a little bumpy and the tongue came off the hitch somehow. No damage to the truck luckily. Once again the chains saved the day. I was just glad it came off there and not on the freeway. Now I check the trailer before I leave and after I drive a few blocks.

Same here. Better safe then sorry.

I had my wife hook up a trailer once. ONCE. Good thing I checked it because she did the old "flip the lever when the catch is not around the ball" trick. Epic fail caught before we left. It was a 16' box trailer way overloaded for what my poor truck could haul and I needed to go 300 miles with it. Woulda been not so great ending methinks....

Ouch. I borrowed my neighbors trailer to move a few weeks back. He needed it early the next morning to go hunting. I made sure to get it back on time, backed it perfect in his driveway. Locked it up. Then the next day I realized I had the key for the lock on my key ring. He wasn't happy to say the least.
