I bought mine about a year ago, worked great the whole time. about 1:30 AM the LCD decides to take a shit and stops working. I get on toshiba's website and it just so happens that my warrenty expired on the 12'th of june 2008.

really convenient huh?
I tried talking to their support and the best thing they can do for me is have me mail it in, I wait 7-10 days and pay $425. I paid $700 for the laptop last year, I'm not dumping another $400 into it.

So yeah, Don't buy toshiba stuff, it fails just after warranty

I'm not sure a statistical sample of one is enough for me to make me sell my Toshiba before it blows up...

They are pretty much junk... ill never buy one. I always get the extended warranty on laptops though (3 years FTW)

I'm not arguing with you about Toshiba's quality, but it's not their fault that the screen died right after your warranty expired. you knew about the warranty length when you bought it.

 Agreed. My family and I have had many Toshibas over the years (probably around 8) and aside from the fans becoming noisy on two that were the same particular model line, I haven't had a single serious problem with them.

I've had two toshiba laptops, both satilitte models and only had 1 hard drive problem> Very upsetting but thats why you should back up your shit.

I should quit bitching, I called tech support again and talked to some higher ups and they will fix it, if its covered under my warranty.

I have a satelite A75... and I am never buying a Toshiba laptop ever again.

Best laptop I've ever used would probably be this brick of a laptop that my dad bought back in 97. It was an IBM Thinkpad, but that thing was solid, it still powers up and runs great, not a single broken part or issue.

I wish I could say the same about this Toshiba piece of shit.

I have a satellite and it works great. I had to replace the battery after about 3 1/2 years (normal lifespan is 1) and other than that not a single problem.
