Working on the car today and I get the converter bolts on, bell housing bolts on... Starter on... Open box to find the rear main seal sitting at the bottom :eek2:

So about an hour away from starting her up for the first time in a year I have to pull the motor back out :gr_mad:

I guess it happens when you rush and rush.

daaaaaaaaaammmnnnn! That sucks! While at the same time, I find it funny because everyone has done something similar!

Yea I was upset at first and felt like I was gonna cry LOL. But it happened and all I can do now is fix it. So maybe tonight she should fire up for the first time.... Wish me luck!

a guy i worked with at a shop swapped motors in a newer LHS with the 3.5 dohc motor. dropped the motor in, buttoned up the whole top side, went under the car, put the exhaust on, had almost everything done till he tried to bolt the converter to the non-existant flywheel.:icon_eek: :cockblock

are you sure? is it a one piece rear seal? if so just pull the trans and do it still in the car. Any way you look at it it sucks, you remembered to put the pick-up on the oil pump didn't you j/k. Good luck on getting it running

Yes I am sure, 1 piece. I did not even think about the trans... But the engine is all un-bolted... So no biggie lol.

Oil pump pick-up.... WHAT IS THAT :( hahaha.
