Does this tire look pluggable?

Cool - fingers crossed, headed over to deal with it at lunch time. Can't believe the cost of this tire for new one.

That's fixable, no problem, we're told the limit is right there, anything in the outer tread block is "risky" of course, I've plugged many which were very close to the sidewall and a few times even in the sidewall, not supposed to do the sidewall at all but I've seen them last for years like that.
Plug or patch, either one works fine, I have seen plugs leak before on rare occasions, never seen a patch leak.

A lot of shops won't. Some will go up until 1/2" from shoulder. It depends on where the belt in the casing ends. I use Tech Uniseal combination plug/patches with great success as long as it's not in the bead. Most patches today are junk and when they get hot and you have a large puncture (3/16" or more) they will blow through the hole.

Yea, I took it to the dealer (w/ a coupon) and they plug patched it for me - $19. I would have just taken it to BT, but I'm not sure if they have the right lift.. and didn't want to chance them not just using a floor jack.

Not sure exactly what product they used, but he said they make the hole a little larger, then pull a plug attached to an internal patch to seal it. Seems fine - time will tell.
