Does anyone think we've already hit the pinacle of society?

For those of you stating that we need to look at history, Just make sure you include Roman history in your "look at history". we're nothing more than a new roman empire. We're decaying from the inside out. moral standards are no longer something to uphold. Hell, they're not even thought of in most cases. The funny thing is that in the Bible, it says the exact same thing that was stated in the first post in this thread in the book of Revelation. Something to think about.
 
I don't go that far ahead. Tomorrow will be a good day. Today rocked, got my truck done.

I don't bother watching the news; the media fucking sucks. Always about the ratings. Sensationalism at it's worst.

As for whether or not we've hit our societal apex is a completely subjective question. Could go either way; that much I know for sure.
 
I guess let me be the bible thumper here.

I have my faith, and I do not fear the end. It will come one day, I don't however feel that be in my life time or my childrens.

How will that change what the rest of the world does? Do you think China will suddenly decide to trade fairly with us because we have a new president? Will US businesses suddenly stop trying to save $$$ by outsourcing everything they can? Will muslim terrorists suddenly decide the west isn't evil? Maybe they'll stop attacking countries in Europe too, just cause the US has a new president! Would be nice for sure, but I just don't believe in it until I see it. :D
 
This is not Prez. Bush's wrong doing, This is the wrong doing of all the mom's and dad's that give their kids no guidance, and no Discipline when they do something worng.

People give Bush way too much 'credit'. They call him an idiot, then they portray him as this supervillian. He can't be both. He doesn't control the world.

well, i wasn't referring to war. i was referring to a time when the world was much more lawless and without value for life. sure there are plenty of whackjobs out there.... but there is far less killing, raping, and pillaging going on today. you just hear about it a lot because we're in the information age where everything is sensationalized.

as it has been said, the "good old days" weren't really all that good. you just weren't alive then. ;)
 
Sorry didnt feel like reading through all the posts. I dont think we have reached the pinnacle yet. Many years ago you didnt hear about atrocities and other bullshit like you do now. Either most places were still in the stone age, or simply didnt report it. Now we have the internet, camera phones, etc...just a big rush of news, images, propaganda, advertisements, etc. Point is, the world has always been shit, we were just never aware of it so much before.
