Does anyone run one of those 4cyl stock races.

When ever I am at the Racetrack (Flatrock) Circle they have that 4cyl stock beater class that looks like fun. Does anyone run that, I have always wanted to get into it.?
 
i have been thinking about getting a shadow or spirit to run at flat rock.. it sucks that they have to be stock and non turbos though

True but keeping it cheap is cool too. I want to go buy a $100 beater take off some stuff and race!!! Does anybody else know any tracks that run that class?? And who is ready to start a team?
 
I've always wanted to do this. Same with a guy i work with. Shit, I say we all buy cars and meet up in the middle of nowhere in a huge parking lot and just go nuts. Winner drives home.

I believe some places have a demo derby for all the cars left at the end of the season.

I would need a trailer or a place close to where we race to leave the car.
Oh If I get a trailer I need something to tow it with. Maybe I would just drive the beater to the race and get a ride home if it broke during racing.

im not 100% sure but i think they have to be caged and have other safety stuff added and also be automatic (at flatrock anyways) there are probably a few little things you can do to it while still appearing 'stock" like shelby z swaybars and springs, minivan rear drums ect on a shadow
 
i raced one of those at the tracks around here. i drove a neon with a 5 speed and it did ok. i dont like drivin them as much as i do the bombers and bigger

yup pretty much and it is with $100 beater 4cyl usually. Some are more involved than others. It looks like a blast but I have never gotten around to doing it.

It is kinda like Go Karts but with real full size cars (Usually Sundances and caviler and stuff)
 
Damn we could have used CableGuys beater 88 prelude for this!! dammit!!! That thing was pretty fast :lol:
 
On some I don't even think you need a cage!? But I am not sure. I was trying to find more info but wasn't able to find anyting specific. Thats is what I am hoping some one here may be able to help.
