i'm sick of rain-x wipers seeming to only last a couple months before you get lines that don't wipe, i know this is a dumb thing to whine about but when they cost $18 a piece i feel like they should at least last a year. anyone have a good brand they like that works well in winter and lasts?

Dealer blades are pretty damn good, agree that the Rain X ones suck, I usually use what we sell at work, Trico exact fit, very good.

Try cleaning the blade with some alcohol and a cotton ball. FLAPS also carry blade cleaner conditioner.

If you want factory motorcraft blades I'm also a motorcraft dealer so I have the blades in stock or anything else in motorcraft.

I use the cheapest (6.99 I think?) NAPA blades on my cars and replace them about once a year. Work pretty good for the price IMO.

Just giving guys a heads up about wiper blades... All of them due to Michigan weather last between 6 months-2 years... Depends on so many factors I would exceed the post limit on this thread... It's a crab shoot...

Tell me more about this crab shooting.. I'm only familiar with crap shooting...

I buy boxes of 10 for something like 1.60ea... change them about one a year.
The key is to use good washer solvent (like rain x) even if its raining I give the windshield a good squirt of solvent and shut my wipers off.

i've been told that the rain-x stuff destroys the rubber on the wipers. i've now started using just the cheapest stuff on the shelf. i always used to use rain-x wipers and solvent, but I'm sick of stuff not lasting. all i'm paying for is the name. i ended up getting a set of the trico blades, 2/$14 (cheaper than 1 rain-x blade). so far they are great but we haven't got much snow/ice.

I use another brand than rain x (service pro) but I have used rain x in the past and never noticed any difference in life of the wipers blades themselves.
At current pricing of 1.64ea I don't give a crap.
I do know some people complain about the film rain x type solvents leave on the windshield and night time glare, but I never noticed it.

It doesn't...

Another factor that everyone never applies is that roadgrime/dust when it is on the windshield, it will slowly make the wiper deteriorate. Affecting the wiper blade patterns on the windshield size.

Bosch Icon, getting difficult to find in the stores though.

Use Rain-X or Aquapel on your windows.
