Dodge R/T launch mode

Guys with launch mode. What do you have yours set at? I'm new to this whole automatic thing. I've been playing around with it the last day and found out yesterday that even in sport mode with T/C off, it will still kick in.

I want to try the hold down trick to turn T/C completely off but I am also curious what RPM you have your launch mode set to. I set it to 3K and am thinking it may be too high.

Funny my charger likes from idle but i dont have launch control

I think i would try 2000 or 2500 rpm

So I held down the T/C button for 5-10 seconds and got the chime saying "T/C OFF" but it's still kicking in when the car breaks loose.

This is annoying - how can you run a car like this down the track?

I have a 15 Scat Pack Challenger. Here is what I do at the track right before pulling out of the lane and heading to the line. First put the car in Sport mode. Than hold down the T/C until it chimes and says off. What works best for me is just pulling to the line and "flashing" the convertor. I have got an 11.69 @ 115.40 with a 1.61 60' launching this way. I have tried the launch control but it seems to hit the tires to hard.

Was this on a drag radial?

What do you mean by flashing the converter?

You could pull the ABS/Traction/stabilitrak fuse, or whatever they call it on mopars. This should completely disable any traction systems including ABS as far as I know.. I wired up a switch on my GMC sierra...(that is how people get stuck in those trucks).

I will try that.

Anybody else experience this? How is the traction control "OFF" and still kicking in?

Is this you?! (found on reddit)

Razor,

Did you have any luck finding a way to turn off the TC in launch control mode? I think the launch control just hits the tires to hard if you are trying to get the lowest ET possible.

I took mine to the track Saturday on the factory 245 Goodyears and ran an 11.96 with a 1.74 60' using the launch method I mentioned earlier in this thread. I did lower the tire psi to 25.

Wes
