Dodge Demon

No they do but has another spot and says 20 some hours. Article I saw said this was the last teaser vid so was just curious if anyone knew.

There was a video today...

Is race fuel green? Was the video a car promo or a commercial for a new Ninja Turtles movie?

Really care if its green??? Is any gas at a dragstrip green?

What about liking turtles?

Maybe its the ethanol green nascar uses

Or maybe just green for the video??

I'm sorry, I find it funny it has a "HO" button. Better not push it when your woman is in the passenger seat...she may ask why you pushed the HO button.

Are they saying this ability to use race fuel is a new technology?

In the Chrysler meeting.....

"Hey Paul, why's that O2 sensor have 5 wires?" " It does whaaaaaaat!"

Sounds a little gimmicky to me. I'd rather it adjust timing itself without having to add a 2nd pcm and press a button. Flex fuel would be better IMO than having to find unleaded race gas.

Back in the late 80s I had a daytona turbo and I was able to get a trick computer and injectors from one of the dodge shelby road racers. I rigged up a toggle switch so I could run about 16-18 LBS of boost with race fuel (non-intercooled). Had to be say at least 98 octane or it would ping like crazy. When I just had regular pump fuel in it I would flip the switch back and it was around 11 or 12 PSI. Worked like a champ.

I think it's a cool idea but E85 would be more convenient for the owners.

Don't remember hearing about it in any production vehicle, so yeah, it's new.

My girls 2002 Jetta 1.8t made more power on better fuel. You could put shit in it or good stuff. The wide band and the knock sensor were aggressive and would add boost and timing accordingly. When you got it tuned you could put 100+ octane in it.

I think the WRX and EVO did the same thing.

OK. I see what you're saying. It will save you if you're a dumbass and try to run high boost with crap fuel. I was thinking it was more like my old Daytona. Dumbass=destroyed engine if you flip the switch with the wrong fuel. More user friendly but still seems like it would be easier if they set it up for E85. Dunno?

This has been done before but not "from the dealer floor" My SRT4 ACR had Stage 3 from Mopar and with it Turbo Toys. It has a "race fuel" button specifically for suing 100 octane unleaded. It added 50 hp to a 300 hp motor. Lowered ET several 10ths. I could see this method on the Demon adding 100 hp easily. I too wish it were E85 as the power would no doubt be greater but 100 unleaded is the safe way for an OEM. Makes I more "race car".

E60 M5 had a button that went from 400 hp to 507 hp and shut off all the nanny bullshit.

If you haven't seen top gear where Clarkston reviews it, you owe yourself to go YouTube it.

Unless that's an M plate it's just a fluke, right? Why would they do that? I do think it's a better candidate for the ugly flares beacause it ain't pretty anyway :) I would be all over this if it were true.

We went over this before, but the 100 octane would have to be unleaded.....
