Dodge Demon

nop they didn't invent anything, just made it factory option, which seems like a nice deal

No....they RE-IMANGINED it. LOL.

For the record, I hate that f#cking stupid term that they seem to use now. It's apparently the latest 'cool' term in advertising.

And I agree that this has been dragged out long enough.

I wonder what the recovery time is for reservoir temp. My assumption is that the AC system isn't enough to maintain 60 degree water temp at full throttle. You probably have to balance heat soaking the car by letting it idle with the AC cranked with cooling the charge. Also, normally, the AC shuts off when you go full throttle. Does the Demon let it run even at full throttle? I would be interested to talk to the powertrain engineer that set the whole thing up. There is a lot more engineering to it than just running some AC lines through the cooler!

Well look at the new ZL1. It has 11 intercoolers according to Motor Trend. I haven't even tried to figure that one out but it must keep the charge temp pretty cold! Does it utilize the A/C system too?

No it does not use the AC.

They misused the word. It has multiple heat exchangers........meaning diff fluid cooler, oil cooler, radiator, 2 auxiliary radiators, 2 intercoolers, etc etc.

They are long tubular cylinders run into the plenum that circulate water throgh them that cool the charge coming out of the blower. I would think that on the Demon, the water is what is being chilled with the AC before it goes into the plenum, not the air itself. Then there is usually a small radiator that cools the hot water coming out of the plenum. My guess is that that Dodge has either replaced the small radiator, or added a freon to water in the return line to the plenum from it. The air to water is still more or less free especially when driving, I can't believe they would get rid of it. But this is pretty much a race car at this point, so maybe.
