Dodge Demon

Challenger SRT Demon.... That makes no sense other than a stretch to use an old name to grab the attention of old people. The Demon small/mid size car, not the boat that is/was the Challenger.

Probably not, i imagine the transfer case takes up a lot of real estate.

I dont know "Demon Hellcat" sounds badass.

The OG Demon was a compact car, the new one is a bathtub built on the LC platform. It would be better if they put it into a smaller package and saved 700 or 800lb and put it into the same weight category as the Mustang and Camaro. It would be much more noteworthy then. This seems more like a simple rebadge to attract the Baby Boomers.

I don't care for the name either when you say it like that. But I think the people who dislike the name the most would be the one's who grew up with the original car with the Demon nameplate.

I agree when you say it like that it does sound badass.

I wonder how FCA would pull off something with more HP that would likely get worse MPG. Current Hellcats already get gas guzzler tax. I was told that FCA would be smart to include an electric Fiat 500 in the bed of every Ram they sell to help beat emissions and fuel economy fines and penalties.....?

I also heard that FCA buys a lot of "emissions credits" from Tesla

I don't really care about the name so much, it's what the car will be. Not sure but I think it's AWD with over 800 hp. They already have an awd challenger model coming out soon, the GT. The challengers are heavy, but the power to weight is what matters, (unless you're talking about handling, of course).

BTW the Hellcats I've driven have averaged around 25 mpg on 75%/25% highway/city runs.

Yeah imagine a new platform , and how much worse it would destroy the competition than the aging 10 year old platform already does

We had a Demon when I was little, it'll be interesting & I'm anticipating the reveling.

In the article above Kuniskis says it's still a Challenger and they're using the current platform a couple more years. But it's not JUST a rebadge. There is a lot more butt kicking ability coming.

Other than the name, it should not in any way be connected with the old A-body Demon, ie a small economical performance car. It is Hellcat extreme!!

www.ifyouknowyouknow.com. Mini site up. Looks like a new video release every week up to the New York show in April. GIF shows wide body doing a burn out. I'm think RWD with a fat 315 rear. This is probably the ADR that has been promised. Wider, lighter, quicker.

WANT!
