Dodge Demon

Seems like they took a look at what the current hellcat owners were doing to their cars via the aftermarket and tried to make it so that they could get all that right from dodge. All the things changed are what most car guys would upgrade anyway. It's a great idea for people who aren't into modifying their cars, and would rather be able to go from the dealership to the strip. Just like with the neons but changing out real names for the old 'stage1', 'stage 2', etc. Hopefully they price it less than someone just buying a hellcat and upgrading those items themselves.

Even without rivets the flairs still just look cheap and stuck on, having the rivets on the inside or outside isn't going to change that but making it blend in and flow better than a 4" tall flare would have probably added more weight.

All I can say is, I sure would not want to get caught on WW in the rain and drive 30 miles home with 4 DR on a car, the rear 2 are scary enough. LOL....

Rick, be sure to post vids when your buddy gets his. :)

LOL.. He hasn't mentioned this yet. Livernois is doing a pulley and tune on his Hellcat, then we'll get some videos after it warms up. He did however say he's getting a Hurrican Performante as soon as they're available.

i got caught in the rain in my gtr once on 696 and mound and drifted across 2 lanes sideways, never again

I just wonder what they're going to do when these idiots start buying these cars and driving around in the rain totaling them. Hopefully the paperwork for these cars will have some sort of waiver not allowing FCA to be responsible for them driving in the rain.

They can't be much worse than a car that comes from the factory with Pilot Sport Cups. I drove a GT350R for a week or so and it was scary in the rain...

They sell 707 hp cars to people that can barely manage to drive an SUV, the drag radials wont be the problem.lol

They're much worse. My gt500 came with them and they sucked in the rain. When I put my drag radials on and got caught once in rain it was really really bad. Couldn't go over 20mph

I don't think many of these will see the light of day let alone a rainy one. Collectors will sit on them. I hope I'm wrong.

Is a 15% strength increase for the driveshaft enough to get it to stop breaking at the current stock Hellcat level? Sounds like that thing will die fast in the Demon still.

Not an engineer but it may not be a direct correlation, i.e. 15% stronger may mean 95% less likely to break.

Not sure who here listens to the Chief and Shawn podcasts, but one of them bought a cts-v...they were talking about how fast it was and the one statement that cracked me up was "Just because you have the money, doesnt mean you should be allowed to buy one of these cars!"

That's what everyone said about hellcats and now there's 10 of them collecting dust on every dealer lot across the country. They had to start leasing them out for 500 a month to get them moving again.

If these were limited number special built cars, maybe. But like was said, they will build so many of them, they will eventually flood the market....depending on price of course.

Well, let's hope so. I'm all for seeing them hit the strip as intended.
