Yea actually I never park handicap and the only vehicle that I own that has a handicapped plate is my mustang so the cops are less opted to mess with me!! Lol I love the way people look at me when I pull up in a loud ass car and park handicapped!! Dont do it to often cause im afraid some ass will key it.

He's the kinda person that should be using the spot. Doctors orders. He also sounds like the kinda guy that if the Doc cleared him he'd stop using it. Like he said, leave it for someone more needy.

Back to the OPs original observation of the two people walking into the Crapperbarrel...... What handicap necessitates that they park close to the building? No strain, no struggle, no unloading of aids, not even carrying anything back out?

So I was at a Cracker Barrel and noticed these people parking.... just before that, a guy was coming out of the restaurant with a walker who was being assisted by someone and he could barley walk at all and was parked in a non handicap spot.
Fucken pisses me off!

So here's what I found when it comes to obtaining a Handicap plate/card

The Michigan Vehicle Code [MCL 257.19a] states that a disabled person be determined by a licensed physician, chiropractor, physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner or optometrist identifying one or more of the following characteristics that affect the patient’s ability to walk.
Circle all letters that apply:
Right Eye: Left Eye: Both Eyes: Visual Field (in degrees):
a) Blindness. Corrected acuity level: 20/______ 20/_____ 20/______ ___________________
b) An inability to walk more than 200 feet without having to stop and rest. Please provide the diagnosis for this ambulatory disability:____________________________________________________________________________________________
c) Patient must use a wheelchair, walker, crutch, brace or other ambulatory aid to walk.
Describe: __________________________________________________________________________________________ _
d) Patient has a lung disease from which the forced expiratory volume for one second, when measured by spirometry, is less than one liter, or from which the arterial oxygen tension is less than 60mm/hg of room air at rest.
e) Patient has a cardiovascular condition that measures between 3 and 4 on the New York Heart Classification Scale, or that renders the patient incapable of meeting a minimum standard for cardiovascular health established by the American Heart Association and approved by the Michigan Department of Community Health.
f) Patient has an arthritic, neurological or orthopedic condition that severely limits ability to walk.

I'm partially disabled. (I have a blue placard) I really can't walk far or stand stationary without my cane. In larger stores I use a ride-em cart.

I'll throw this out there, if you have a mirror placard, take the damn thing off the mirror when you drive. Like it says right on it.

As for those "Obvious" spot hogs (those that literally hop out of the car and RUN into a store} They're morally handicapped.

At the GM Tech Center in Warren where I work, it is so bad that the actual handicap people get signs with their names on them. Otherwise the moochers take all the good spots.

I would NEVER park in a handicap spot. Karma's a bitch....and as I get older, heaven forbid I may need assisted parking at some point.

As for the inconsiderate morons who entitle themselves to an up front spot....Fuck 'em...I'm not the morality police...Just a regular guy trying to get through life. My hope is that at some point, life kicks these douchebags in the nuts even harder...Just my $.02...

They all have handicappers, but everyone walks in just fine. Security can't say anything if they have a pass.

Where I used to work was a guy with a handicapped plate. He got it for his gout. I agree, that shit probably hurts like a motherfucker to walk on, but when its not inflamed and hurting he still uses handicapped spots. Not saying it's likely but it's possible the guy you saw has the same situation of being granted a tag for a condition that is occasional?

Last week i was waiting for my daughter to get off work at kroger near me and this douche drives in goes around a couple rows and dont want to park way out near the back so he parks along the front of the store and gets out and goes in for about 10min and comes out with milk, gets in and leaves...lol.....that shit pisses me off....lazy bastard!
