i noticed something the other day pulling my motor out , its on the back of the drivers side head , it looks like it had a tube coming out of it and its held in by a bolt , well the PO welded up the tube and kept it bolted on the head , not sure what it is , probably something to do with the emissions , im just not sure if i dont swap on on my new heads will it cause any issues , any ideas what it is and if i need it ?

It's smog pump plumbing I'm not sure how you delete them every car in my family's arsenal had them removed before we owned them

the smog is deleted from my car and ive got the smog eliminator pulley , just not sure if i get rid of this little plug type thing if its going to cause any issues , its not that big of a deal im just trying to be a neat freak and keep everything clean

the port that that tube is on top of is threaded, remove whats lest of the tube, and get a short bolt to screw into it, you might need to run a tap into the hole to clean out carbon, but if you are installing new heads, just make sure that hole is pluged, if it is even there

I bought what was called a thermactor plug from the dealer. Can't remember the cost but threaded right in and no more worries

the heads that were on my motor already had smog deleted, bolt them on an go
i thought so , i figured if there was something bolted there the paint would be off in that area ,., thanks man , just trying to make sure im all good and covered when she goes in wednesday
