Disposing of old gas

I have 5-10 gallons of gas sitting in the tank of my Caprice cop car. The car has not run in ~ 10years (spun a bearing while in service in 97 or 98 and sat in storage for a LONG time.

I want to dispose of the gas PROPERLY, which means not dumping it in the neighbors back yard

The Inter-web tells me to mix it with fresh gas and burn it up in my car.

I am thinking of trying it in my company car :icon_wink but wanted to get some opinions.. Anybody try this?

x4 haha. thats what i do with nasty old gas from my shop. could also throw it on a bond fire. im not sure i would use it all at the same time haha but u get the point. i would not put that garbage in your car.

yeah, me too, but I make sure its diluted pretty good(4 gallons to 20 should be fine

Most of what I read on the Net was saying the same thing. REcommended mix is 3 or 4:1 new gas vs. old.

I'd put it my company car, but then I wouldn't get reimbursed for the fuel add without a receipt. But, if it screws the motor up, I just have it towed on the company tab.. hmmm.

I will likely run it in my tractor, but f'in up the carb on that thing is almost as painful to repair than my EFI stuff...

Maybe it'll go into the pickup, there's ~3/4 tank in it right now, and I have about 5-10 gallons to pump out. That's in the 3:1 range...

i have 10 gallons sitting around if anyone wants it....i tried burning it in a pit ,i had 5 more gallons......um dont do that,the fire department just about came,some neighbor came running up to the house,thinking it was on fire,black smoke everywhere....

store it and use it for bonfires. soak logs with it.
