Discovery channel now seeking street racers in detroit for a spinoff of “street outlaws”

Screw them... I see duallys with NHRA stickers doing 10 over the speed limit all the time.. poor ambasadors I guess..... put some interesting crap on tv and stop pouting about your good name.

Another fun fact. CMYZ28 drives his Z28 once a year making it hard to C.... :)

haha hey to each his own. I think I put 6k miles on my 91' last summer. Got it on the road late may and took it off late September.

On another note, at least from my experience, there isn't any cars worth fine on the road today. May be different for some of you other guys, but the only car that even tried to race me last summer was an 80's chevy van. Its just not worth it.

Those corners were packed.. it started getting out of hand.

Super fast stuff, trailer cars, snow mobiles racing turbo busa's lol

Everything was fair game in 03-04.... hell all the way up to 08 Id say. Then everyone started cracking down. Gratiot got stupid with cops and everyone went to Woodward. It was fun but crowded with BS. There were other places to line up and run but not many and the slaps on the wrists went away and along came bigggg fines and cars being towed/owners getting arrested. Mix that with the slum that would come up and troll for street fights/guns/knives and the cops really shut shit down and started passing loitering tickets out like free candy at a parade.

Im in the middle of reading this right now but I dont agree with NHRA but I "agree" that they issued the statement. Think of it this way, if they dont say "stop it" right now then it appears that they are condoning street racing and will have sue happy victims coming after the NHRA for joe schmo crashing his street racing car into a minivan. I think its more of a cover their ass "dont partake in illegal racing" statement

Makes sense..

I love the NHRA's answer to this is that we have a NEW youth program where 13-16 years old can drive daddy's car at the track
