Discovery channel now seeking street racers in detroit for a spinoff of “street outlaws”

its a new series a spinoff of street outlaws. maybe the show might be about no et nats? who knows yet. I don't see another show the same as street outlaws getting the ratings that street outlaws does. so I guess we all just wait and see what they come up with.

the No ET format would work ...
people would still watch

the mayhem that happens at Milan during a No ET is the same as the street

I'm sure we have slme fast cars here, but it is a TV show. Even if our guys were faster the show would obviously not show it.

Its tough for that show to not be staged just for liability purposes alone. Then you factor in the BS that draws viewers and its a recipe for a crappy show. In all honesty, I hope the shoe does make it here because Detroit needs a different view other than news and crime.

I know you're new, but were you aware that we were on a full episode of Pinks?? Johnquick302 was the driver, we're practically tv celebrites already LOL JK

its actually pretty sad that the cops have run off not just the dick head kids that act like jack asses, but they have also run off the people that just like to meet and have fun with their cars. Last year, is the first year that I can ever remember that the weekends on Woodward were scarce, there was really very little cars out. I just cant believe that with all the bad ass cars that are around, they no longer come out. I've seen cars on Woodward that must have 50-100k plus in them, and last year, I didn't see any of them out. Its a real shame that the cops have actually won in this case.

I remember back in early 2000s, joy and telegraph and Woodward were nuts. Working midnights at Ford, I used to take my lunch at 3 am and come out to telegraph, and it was still packed that late at night, sure miss the fun days.

Id love to buy enough land to build a half mile roll race track, where on the weekends, we could have every car guy around, bring their cars out and just hang out, shoot the shit, and run their cars if they wanted to. If I ever hit the lotto, this will be the first thing I do!!!!

As of late, this is actually the first time I could care less about having a car, as if there is really know where to go an have fun. It would make more since to sell my Shelby, and pick up a nice 9 sec car to run at no ET, as a car you can pay cash for, does not put as much sting in the pocket book as a car sitting in the garage with a payment on it!!!

I read about something like that going on in Pontiac..

I remember watching PINKS most tracks they filmed at had minimal spectators when they came to Milan it was standing room only
I would love to see a KING of the HILL race at Milan to establish the (List) and then week to week stay on it
and have to work your way to the top by winning races (aka) street outlaws format

Drag Racing the way its meant to be HEADS UP !!!! fuck bracket racing !

I would rather watch a heads up index race than bracket racing any day

You see where chief was contacted by NHRA saying if he doesn't stop promoting street racing they will pull his comp license

Yeah, I found it funny an NHRA track was promoting a street racing show at the same time the NHRA is sending participants of a street racing show letters saying they would take their license. LOL

X2
I like the show and watch it every week. The street racing thing is kinda a joke though. The track is lined with generator spot lights and has the wire camera like the nfl does. There is never any traffic so either its in the middle of no where or an industrial drive or something like that.

They do have some bad ass cars though thats why i watch it.

I'm sure they close off the area for them to get some runs in unimpeded, too. They probably have emergency medical staff off camera to add to the "realism".

Im with you on this one. I remember when I first started driving out to woodward with my friends and I. It was jam packed and it was fun and amazing (this was in 09). Sit out there till 2-3 am. Fun times, did that all they way up to 2013. I think i only went out once last year, didn't wanna deal with police. Its a shame. I understand all the jackass' that need to go, but people who just find a place to park and just hang out get harassed more than the morons playing fast and furious through the parking lots. Make me kinda happy that I sold the stang for my house. We just hope and dream that woodward would be woodward again but we all know it never will be.
