So i was in Costco and a Direct TV rep offerd me all premium channels, for all 5 tv's, HD, telephone and internet for $117 a month... $1 install..good for 2 years...
My question is does the picture fuzz out during bad weather or if snow builds up on the dish?
The rep said I'd have the picture 99% of the time..
I'm currently paying $180 through Comcrap and just disgusted everytime i pay that bill

I dropped cable and been with DIRECTV since 2004 and love it. Picture quality is way better. Also Sunday NFL ticket is only D. Yes there is signal loss during crazy thunderstorms. But it's not a deal breaker for me. Light rain is no issue. No issue with snow buildup unless we get 12" plus. All I do is spray some Pam cooking spray and snow just slides right off. Again not a deal breaker. If you have family with D, they can give you a referral which knocks off another $10 per month for 10 months. For both you and your referrer. If you need a referral , PM me ;)

I switch every two years. I had DirecTV, then Dish, and now believe it or not I am back with comcast. I just go wherever the best deal is. Yea, you will lose pic when it storms hard. But that is about the only issue I had.

Also, their big scam is to sign you up for recurring NFL Sunday Tickets, MLB, or NBA. It will automatically renew every year, and there is a window of time in your contract that you have to cancel it every year in order to not pay. So even if you cancel it this year ,it will renew next year. That is how they get you.

I had it and couldn't wait to get rid of it....in fact I paid 4 months worth of fees to get out early. If you have kids, the "on demand" is a joke. They will hate it. There isn't shit and it doesn't stream like Comcast, u have to download first and then watch. Also mine would go out on a cloudy day...price was great. But if you ever need to add another tv, your fucked. Comcast is the devil but it's the best service out there.

I only had tv. I still had comcast for internet. Last I cahecked my area could get a whopping 1.5 meg download speed using At&t with Direct TV.

Had Direct TV when I was living in NC. Made it most of the way thru a hurricane before the picture dropped out. Shortly after the power went out too. I was pretty impressed.

Dish Network is way better than DirecTV, assuming you get the Hopper3.

With an Eastern Arc dish snow doesn't really build up on it. If the rain is bad, especially if you have to point through deciduous trees, usually results in signal loss. If it's more than 18" off the roof or the ground it helps a lot. Normal rain and not pointing through trees is fine.

I've had dish and direct, I think both suck! Currently on direct but will probably be switching back soon or dropping it all together. After the 2 years is up the pricing is a joke just like the rest. If I had a Comcast option here I would be using it, imo their on demand far surpasses both dish and direct.

I only loss my signal with big storms, I can always tell when a good one is blowing in when the signal drops a couple minutes before a good storm hits. Snow has never been an issue, it seems to slide off most of the time.

Currently have DirectTV and not overly impressed. Like you, I was told about $115/mo for 2 years, but.... as mentioned above, they snuck that NFL Sunday Ticket thing in there and I didn't cancel in time... and now I'm paying back up over $180/mo like Comcast. They are all shady and overpriced. My contract expires in 4 months and then we are done with them all. Cutting the cord and just going with internet + Roku or whatever is best at the time.

All I really want to watch is Game of Thrones, MotoGP and Formula1

I have had Direct TV for 7 yrs due to where we live. Only issue is in the sticky/heavy snow that can build up on the dish. Just brush it off and all is well (I still gotta try the PAM trick). And heavy thunderstorms will also disrupt the signal once in a while. Just switch to some recorded TV or a movie till the storm passes and it's all good.

For MotoGP get Channel BEIN, coverage is great they show all the qualifying live and races live. On Comcast it's worth the extra $5/month. There are other channels thrown in but I don't know what they are. Go!!!!!! 46
