Detroit locker vs spool?

Alright. Getting ready to change the gear in my car, currently running a detroit locker but contemplated switching over to a spool. I hate the normal backlash/slam of the locker as well as the sometimes biased engagement from a roll. It's a street car that I drive to and from the track/race spots. Really dont want to spend a shit ton on another carrier. Any opinions or experience?

I've liked the ford traction lock with the truck spring, and a extra clutch on both sides. The spring is hard to get in, but it'll go. I enjoyed positive engagement doing left and right hand turns for a long time like that. Used to whip figure 8's all the time.

I ran a spool in my Coronet. Never had any problems on the street except the time I got caught in the rain with balding drag radials. I thought I was gonna die that day.

If it's more of a race car that you putz around with on the street then just put a spool in it. I had a spool with slicks and drove 2 days a week all summer. Just have to put new slicks on every year. Take slow wider turns and other then that no worries.
