Detroit as it is today

The guy is an asshat!! Name me one autoworker that gets $130,000 in their paycheck for a 40hr workweek. Pay me $74/hr and I can buy my own health insurance, and still have decent money left over.

He said between their salaries and benefits. If you take health care, vision, dental, 7 weeks paid vacation etc. into consideration i don't think it's too far exaggerated.

As for generous benefits, yes, UAW members have some of the best benefits of any union. They don't have to worry about visiting the doctor or paying for prescriptions. The cost of these benefits is the equivalent of roughly $10 per hour. Add the "bennies" to the base wage of $28 an hour, and you get a total of $38 per hour. When the Big Three auto executives state that the cost of health care adds up to $1,600 per vehicle sold (or unsold

UAW workers are overpaid, but not that much. With benefits thats $72,960 a year. Not bad for pushing a button 8 hours a day. That is for an Average mid level worker.

wow that guy made some good points how fing sad is that ,we our no better than a 3rd world country, cant believe as Americans people live like that and we do nothing.. bash away

Yup, it's not all people. But the people down there get it that way. It's all about being "thug life" and "hood rich", and they could care less what it looks like where they live. Granted its only a percentage of the citys population that feels that way...it was enough to lead to where it is now.

I have 4 uncles in the UAW. They have been there since the 70's. And they all made over $100,000 with OT, not including benifits.

I think an average line worker makes about $45 an hour union.

No sir it is 29 an hour and not just push buttons dont forget they have been taking bennies from us for a while funny people think its just that easy try doing 68 push ups a hour 68 pullups and 68 sit ups with 30lbs on you for 8 hours a day for a month straight working at some of these plants not easy i know been there 7 years and still have a lot of pain so put yo self into that position thats a slap saying the uaw is at fault you should see how the auto makers waist money and they get bounes when the company is bad someone please answer that one for me?

That video is sad shit indeed. There is Blame on both sides of that table UAW/The Big 3 Lots of mismanagement and overpaying of non deserving CEO's and other higherups. And on the otherside Unions not wanting to accept concessions to keep the company strong "those should start at the top" Unions Fighting to keep Drunk or Drug Addicted Workers that are doing more harm than good, and handing out madatory Pay Increases across the board for members:mad:

I know a guy personally that retired from GM 2 years ago he made 120K w/ot his last couple years with the company what was his job? Well he didnt work the line nor was he skilled trades no no nothing like that, He worked in the Paint shop he swept floors and changed filters:shutup:How does a guy with no real skills or a degree make that kinda money for that kinda job:gr_confus 35 years and UAW:headscrat
