detroit 187 who watched it?

I liked a lot of the scenery shots of Detroit, but the action shots were bad.

THe scene running through the train station was good. and actual DETROIT scenery was good. But action was BAAAD. WHy do they feel for a reality feel they have to keep the camera "floating" Zooming in and out randomly and fast. I just don't get it, for me it takes away from the show, and can distract from teh actual story trying to be told?

the pilot episode was filmed to be documentery style then they dropped that idea and reshot scenes, hopefully upcoming episodes will be shot better. the dude flashing his grille at the camera was awesome

Indeed it was. I loved the guy dragging the slide through the field. LMFAOOOO

a buddy of mine works for ABC...

I was talking with him about and this is what he had to say...

"Did a 31 rating locally!...for those not in the know, that is huge! Had a 47% share of the TV households last night. The folks at ABC are telling us that the follow up episodes are better than the pilot. Good show that can be great as it develops"

I liked it. Enjoyed the gold grill guy swearing at the cop or whatever. Some of it was pretty cheesy but had me laughing. I'd watch it again.

I have seen people bitching about them being in American and not Lafeyette...but they don't get it. American has all the windows. It makes for a better shot and that's what they got out of it by shooting part of the scene at the beginning from outside.

Not to mention the better Coney! FLAME ON!

It was just very cheesy. The young black detective was very cheesy, the girl with the long hair was cheesy, the writing was pretty hack and the camera work was cheesy. All in all it was pretty disappointing. Mainly because Michael Imperioli is a great actor whose talent they are wasting, and I mean come on...you're going to have a cop show called Detroit 187 filmed in Detroit, and it's going to be that polished and goofy? They have a great chance to make a gritty, serious cop drama that looks and feels the part, and that's not what this show is. I was thinking more like The Wire Detroit and this is more like CSI Detroit/The Office. Boo.

P.S, if you've ever seen Narc with Jason Patric and Ray Liotta, I always thought "Hey, wouldn't it be great if they made this movie about Detroit into a show?" That's what I was hoping for...
