Dell Mini 9 with OSX 10.5.5 installed $395

I have a dell mini 9 computer that I have been messing around with for the past two weeks. I blew out xp and installed OSX.

It has the following specs
intel atom 1.6ghz processor
1gb ram
16 gb ssd
1.3mp webcam

OSX runs great on this computer and there are only two things that are not 100% functional......

1 - sleep mode does not work and has been disabled. This is not a big issue as the computer shuts down quickly and boots into osx in about 25 seconds.

2- The SD card reader does not work with sdhc cards. Therefore you are limited to sd cards 2gb and smaller. Also while reading cards is quick, the write speed is slow.

This is a great little computer but it is definitely not a replacement for your primary laptop or desktop. It is perfect for those situations where you would like something more comfortable to surf on than a blackberry but don,t feel like dragging your laptop along.

Not sure if it would work or not, but there are probably some better options out there for you if you are looking for a tuning notebook. I am not sure what the minimum processor requirements for Hp Tuners or Ls1 edit are. You can get a dell mini with windows xp on it, but once again I would probably stick with a normal laptop to do tuning.
 
these things look cool, they had a sweet deal running online monday only for em but they all came with some open source linux OS instead

Yeah, these things are pretty slick, but I don't know if I think they are wrth full retail (ie. $400+ with 16 gig,webcam, and windows xp). If you want one check out the outlet when they run their coupons.


I saw the on e deal on monday which was $299 for an 8gb with Unbutu
