Dell Computers....yay or nay?

Fuck em all, buy a Thinkpad :)

ThinkPads are decent. My R32 lasted about 18 months and my T22 is going on 7 years. The HP 1,000 lasted a little over a year. I like my Dell D600, only problem is the battery (recall/defect/causes fires).

My next laptop will probably be some sort of Tuff Book.

I've had a Dell desktop for 2yrs and all the computers here at work are Dell. The have been great.

Yea my work computer is a Dell.. FROM 1997!! lmfao Thank god they are updating these things finally haha

tough books are sweet but are way too rich for my blood, and you dont seem to be able to get the fastest/best parts in them. put it this way, from all the guys i know, the dells are the only ones to survive a year in iraq without problems, every sony has a few problems, and the hp's, well just give up on those all together.

Don't feel bad. Comerica has just recently started upgrading the desktops. The old junk ran Windows 95 for crying out loud. Banks are usually pretty slow at adopting new technology.

Well why would they worry about it? I mean it's only our money and information they are protecting

we run NT which luckily they stopped updating the software for not too long ago.. It's not the security issue, it's just basic as hell and overloads the PC's

LOL
Guess who bought a TON of Comerica's old PS/2 machines back in 95 :)
We must have scrapped 500 Mod 50Z's and Mod 80's.
I still have about 10 or 12 old IBM clicky Keyboards from back then.

As far as thinkpads go I've (seriously) owned every model ever available in the US (my first thinkpad was microchannel!)
I'll probably use my T42p until it crumbles to dust.

You cannot beat a Dell.

All i purchase for customers are Dell desktops/servers....i have the ocassional power supply and hard drive failure...but out of 60+ PC's that isnt anything...

I ordered a dell last night. Decent deal. Kept under 650, with a few upgrades, and a 17 inch flat panel.
