December 7th...

Yes you did. We rained down Hell on Earth on those people. I'm just sad to see how far from those days of pride the US has fallen.

We have become a country afraid to celebrate our American pride because the immigrants and whiners that complain. We as a nation should embrace our country. Those that don't like it GET THE F*CK OUT! :shake:

I've never been to Pearl Harbor, but I will someday. WWII was my favor war to learn about. I'm am glued to the History channel when they have specials about it.

:gr_patrio

Just wanted to quote this and add that it's sig worthy and that's where it where it will stay for the foreseeable future. My hat is off to those that serve and have served. :gr_patrio

We shall not forget December 7 yet we shall also move forward.

Bump for 2016. 75 years ago today! [emoji631][emoji631]

Wow, 75 years. My grandpa fought in Europe so he was already in the thick of it. I heard this morning that most Americans expected a war with Japan but the Pearl Harbor attack was obviously completely unexpected.

Guess I'll have to go check my facts. I thought Pearl Harbor was our entrance into fighting, unless was your grandpa not an American? Not trying in any way to be a jerk just checking my own history knowledge. Anyway, a big thank you to all that serve (ed).

War was expected because the US was supplying oil to the Japanese war machine prior to the attack. When we stopped exporting oil to them, Pearl Harbor was the retaliation. Japan felt if they could remove the Pacific fleet, they would gain sole control over the Pacific.

They say we'll never forget, but it's sad to see so little recognition of it today. No-one at work mentioned it except me, and that was at the end of the day.

Same here. I think so many forget because we are fast approaching a time when WWII vets will be but a memory. I loved chatting with WWII vets, they always had interesting stories to tell.

God bless our troops who stand, where others fear to
tread and paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.
