I'm curious if anyone knows how dealership collision shops work, here's the story.
My LS had some body work done by Stu Evans Collision Center who included a 3-year warranty on the work performed. Now, one year later, I've got some paint chips and imperfections on the back of the car where the work was done, and of course, Stu Evans has gone out of business. I want to know whether or not the warranty would be from Ford or from the dealership themselves.
So, can I take it to another dealer to get fixed or am I just screwed?

Was this a Direct Repair Shop with your Insurance company? That would make a HUGE difference. If its a DRP shop or WAS a DRP with your Insurance company when you had the work done they would have to stand behind it and get it fixed again for you. Also most places do Lifetime Warranty not a year amount.

Post some pics of the "damage" and I can tell you if it was the result of poor materials, prep, and/or workmanship. Worked at 2 different dealer's body shops in the paint department.
 
I don't actually know, I was the "claimant" I think, or; the car got hit while parked so the girl's insurance paid for the repairs. I automatically took it to Stu Evans because it was literally two weeks after I bought it there. I will look at the paperwork from the job, and I'll take some pictures later.

I was washing the car with the pressure washer and it began chipping on a metal surface and on the plastic bumper surface. The reverse light fills with water and moisture, and there's been a metal shaving about the size of a fingernail that got painted over which drives me crazy. Also the back of the car is darker then the front because of fade on the front, but I'm not sure if that's their problem or not, just seems like they should have taken that into consideration when painting it. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a hack job to me. Probably why those assholes are out of business. I'll post more tonight, but my computer is about to die.
