This is the deal. In May I trashed my trans and bought a rebuilt one and had it installed. C.A.R.S. pulled my trans I took it to the trans shop and had it rebuilt then had Sean replace it. It didn't shift so Sean towed it to the trans shop so they could fix it. I picked it up and it sat in the driveway till dreamcruise then after that till last week. Well, it went out again and they want to charge me $475 to R&R it. The trans has a 12/12k warranty for parts and labor. But because its a bench job they want to charge to R&R. So this trans has less then 300 miles on it and its dead again. So should I get a refund and do you think I could get one? They dont seem like they will. Or should I have them fix it for the third time but have someone R&R it at a better price?:dontknow:

What bothers me is that this will be the 3rd time for them to get this right. The car is going into storage soon and wont be out till maybe april. That gives me one month till the warranty is up then Im on my own.

Damn, sorry to hear that.
What is it with transmissions and C4s?:dontknow:
Between you and a friend, you guys have 4 transmissions and no running C4s.

What were you doing when the trans died? Drag racing?

It sounds like your beef is with the trans shop and not the installer. Either way that's a crappy situation.

4L60E's are junk everyone that has a "built" trans always has trouble.

Get a ZF and be done with trans troubles. (I have two If you want one):icon_mrgr

WORD:badass:

I would call and explain what happened, and ask them what it costs to have the job done properly, then call the BBB. I'd let them know that this is an unnacceptable situation and that you are calling the BBB.

I have never had it to the track to race. What I was doing this time was getting on M59 thats it. And in no way what so ever do I have a problem with the installer he has gone above and beyond with this trans install when it went out the first time.

tell them your calling the BBB and that you want some money back. Then take the trans to Hotrodhawk and TAJACKS buddy. they both have trans' from him and they seem to hold up great to pretty big power so you shouldn't have an issue
