I arrived nice and early and checked into Western 7. I didn't take any photos yet of the cockpit that were close, but I was able to go back in and play around later and snapped some photos. Here is what I got with a few other groups while they were in there:

Then I went back in to have my fun, and teach others how to use the systems. I'll start off with the CDU as everyone loves. Its fully functional, and very fun to use:

There is a bank of super computers (ha) running this system. Here is a look at it all for the people considering building one:

The training is so indepth, that they actually do oxygen training, and here is the supply:

Just for the sake of it, I found a nice little LED to try macro mode on, right up to it, and this is what I got:

After that, I had awhile before my next class, so I travelled around WMU and snapped some photos of other stuff we have.

From the last photo, you can see how much of the air from the N1 fan is bypassed over the engine and not use in the internal combustion.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. Any querstions on the CRJ-200, feel free to ask.

cant see the pics on the work pc, what are you in class for?
I am a A&P at DTW..

I'm in the class for advanced aircraft systems. Were doing all the good stuff about jet engines at the moment. Comparing and contrasting turbofan vs turbojet, 80/20 bypass engine, theory, convergent and divergent ducts, and all the parts related to the engine. Were in the sim to learn about starting procedures, hot starts (high ITT), no oil pressure, etc. Next time, were doing starts, and taxi along with flying on the 3rd time in there. From that, we go into oxygen systems, pneumatics, fire systems and hydraulics, which is what this class ia all about. All is with regards to transport category class aircrafts also.

Since your an A&P at DTW, anyway you could get me in there one day for some learning to go along with my class and career path?

And do you have your IA? What ya work on out there?

I would love to be there on a day of an engine swap and the post swap runup. I will be back for spring break, so I will shoot you an email then. On a side note, Mesaba is a company going places and expanding big time.

Flying is easy. Anyone can do it I do it all the time at Dave and Busters in that flying game.

Were going up this summer, and we will see how easy it really is. I will even let you TRY to land the airplane.

There's two rolls in the top left corner of that pic.

Ohh, lol. Thats the throttle quadrant. Those are actually quite small, about palm size, each one controls each engine.
