Daily question...... Focus RS or Charger RT AWD?

Ok..... I've had this Charger since 2014. I still like it, but it's getting miscellaneous electrical demons. With the engine, exhaust, trans work I have in it I know I'll have a net loss.

My question is if I should just let it go and get a RS as a DD or put the money into it and keep it.

Keep in mind it's at 80,000 miles now.

I'm a huge Mopar guy, but they just don't seem to have anything for a year-round car for us Michiganders. 🤔

The RS has a very harsh ride. If you can tolerate that every day, it may be the car for you. Another good daily is the Fiesta ST. While smaller than the Focus, it has more driver leg room. When I test drove the Focus ST, I felt cramped up front and my knee kept hitting the center console. While the ride of the Fiesta ST is a little stiff itself, it isn't anything like the RS. I average 31mpg in mine with mostly city driving, and on road trips I've had it go as high as 38, but it's usually ~36mpg. This is with a tune too. If you consider the Fiesta ST, you'll need a winter wheel and tire setup. I run 15" steelies with Michelin X-Ice tires and it's a trooper.

VW Golf R is about the perfect car for Michigan. Has plenty of room, the build quality is quite good and the interior is far nicer than the Ford. If you aren't happy with 300hp AWD in 3400lbs, about $1200 with APR gets you over 400 hp and 400 tq.

idk if its on my end or yours, but the link doesnt direct me to a video.

Do you want a large comfortable car with v8 power or a small econobox car with V8 type power? The Chargers for the most part are a rock solid platform. That Focus platform, not so sure. Have heard of many issues, not necessarily with the RS though.

Same. Link no worky.

Not sure about the German engineering though. People I know who own them say save a couple grand $$ for special service tools for when you have to work on them.

Yea, I'm curious what problems you're seeing. My 13 charger had one problem so far. The horn assembly had to be replaced. Sucked not having a horn in Atlanta traffic. That said, my 13 has been great. I even bought the lifetime warranty and only used it once (Horn) so far.

I really liked my 14 Charger R/T AWD. Too bad they have the cam/lifter issues. Its the reason I'm no longer looking for another Jeep next summer when my lease is up.

I’d keep the Charger. I’ve been eyeing Scat Packs, just unsure of having a 485 hp in snow, even if I have snow tires.

Also waiting on the JL unlimiteds to get their issues fixed. Been looking at two very different rides lol.

Rublestrip: nice video! But that’s not a 10 minute test drive
