Jim, no one is forcing you to buy shit from the vendors. So if you feel you've been gouged, its your own fault. and speaking of gouging, then you need to get rid of all our local professional sports as well. Have you seen the concession prices at Comerica, Palace, Joe Louis?
they are un-fucking-real....
i went to the red wings game on wednesday, fuckin 8.50 for a miller light on tap..
kegs cost what, 70 bucks or some shit? they sell 9 beers and the keg is paid for, and allllllllll the rest that comes out of it is profit...holy shit. they are making a KILLING. but i will continue to go because i enjoy it, and they know that, thats why prices are the way they are.
Cruising never extended to Detroit anyway.. No loss here.
The heart of the cruise has typically been in Royal Oak.
I was fairly surprised how quiet it was last year. Volume was WAY down.
I think the overwhelming police presence has chased a lot of people away.
the dream cruise has run its course, time to get rid of it. All it does is allow all the vendors & such to GOUGE everyone for a week.
hey, wednesday night i paid .75 cents a beer if that makes you feel any better. :laugh:they are un-fucking-real....

I guess I look at it as they aren't able to generate the revenue inside, so they rent out their private lot to recoup![]()
agreed! i take side roads to woodward near where i want to be. the nights before are the best nights as far as "cruise weekend" goes. Its like tourist season at Mackinac. Personally i think its the weeks after that are the best. Everyone around here makes cruise weekend a deadline for their projects. after the cruise is over they can actually cruise and enjoy their vehicle for what they built it for. Not sit in traffic or sit next to it in a parking lot.Um yea I'm totally ok with not cruising south of 8 mile
Saturday cruise day has totally lost its effect in the core area 11-15 mile. Who wants to sit in traffic all day? The weeks leading up to it are the best and you can get some nice old fashioned cruising in. I would be upset if that part of it went away.
First year was the best..

I thought the economy kept some people away last year more than anything.
