just today, I was sitting in my condo and kept hearing chirping. I thought it was a bird outside my front door making a nest above it or something. when I went outside I heard it was coming from the storm drain (just a 10x10 grate in my grass) so I thought, "oh no, there is a bird stuck in there. I have to get it out". I was looking through the great trying to see where it was exactly. I was about to go get a screwdriver to open the grate, with my face still close to the grate a HUGE RAT was in there!!!!!

I freaked the F-out!

I ran inside like a little girl. haha

We live in a 100+ year old building that was converted into condos about 10 years ago. We get centepedes, they kill everything (all insects & some small mammals & birds), so they are welcome.

The other night my fiancee went to the bathroom & saw one. He freaked, didn't know what to do, so he ran in a circle, the booked for a crack in the trim.

No, idea, my brother found it and kept it until I got home and could photo it. Look in the third one, that's his tongue! It was longer than that but never got a clear picture.

That would be a Lucanus capreolus...or also known as a Stag Beetle (male because of the size of his bitchin' mandibles). The beetle eats sap. Those bad ass jaws are used to fight other males so they can woo the ladies for some late night shell on shell action. They are nocturnal, so the late night action is fitting. Dont get your ballsack caught anywhere near those jaws though. That would leave a mark.

Some visitor's I have had the last couple weeks in our 100+ year old home.

Bat's seem like a weekly problem for us, They are always in the house.

You kill the bats?

No I actually have a net I use for the Bat's, I usually catch and release. This one when I caught it some how got killed, it was the middle of the night and I wasn't fully alert and I think I swatted it out of the air. We like having Bat's around the house they keep the bugs away.

I've seen those centipedes and have recently had a bat in my house. I am fine with them outside, but not cool with them inside.

And  @avbcon. That was freaking funny!
