Crank case vacuum

Ok, anybody have any ideal for eliminating crank case pressure. Read a thread where some used a electric pump from a LS1, which seems to be good for race app only. Does anyone make a electric pump for street use to remove crank case pressure. Will the weld on evac systems work on cars with mufflers? I was told open header only. I currently have a LS1 pump wired and it seems to work pretty good ,but I was told that it won't last long running all the time. Trying to remedy this issue on a budget. Thanks.:headscrat

You can use the header style Evac system with full exhuast. You just need a good free flowing exhuast system

You can't run chambered mufflers. The system must be mandrel bent and I wouldn't go any smaller then 3 inch for a 350-410 ci engine turning 6500-7000rpm.

It is a its a mac 3inch system. Which is mandrel bent. From what you're saying those mufflers wont work with it huh?

If the muffler is similar to a flowmaster with baffles and chambers no. If its a straight through free flow design yes

Are you talking about a ventricle style system?

yeah, high exhaust velocity is needed for a pan evac system to work properly

i run about 2 1/2 feet of 3 inch pipe right off the collector into my muffler witch is a flowmaster delta 10 series. They have one small baffle in them and are about 4-5 inches long.....6-7 wide and bout 2-3 thick. I put on teh crank evac system and it works great. Motor idles a lot nicer and i stopped blowing out oil pan seals as well as lifting the intake. been on for 3 years now
