Craigslist question

It seems someone is enjoying flagging my posts for my Cobra for sale. Is there any way to stop this? It's getting annoying having to repost it.

I list many ads on CL & have for for over a decade.

I have also noticed that this past year has yielded an
unusually high flagging rate for my ads. I'm truly not sure
why, but I have figured out a few ways to lower the problems.

1) I've had to dumb down my photos. Thats right, my normal great
photos have to be lowered to look a little more like the average
crappy ones folks post!

2) Make sure your ad doesn't have ANY of the things the spammer ads
have or even look a little like them.

3) Many folks are afraid to list their phone number, I say do it. The idea
is to make it as easy as possible for a legitimate buyer to contact you.

4) I'm beginning to think the CL spammers are fighting back and flagging
legitimate ads to help their ads!

It would be very helpful for you to post your ad so we can see it. That may
help us to truly see whats going on. Please copy & past the CL ad as well as
the text of the ad and or a screen shot of the ad.

I have a phone number but it's a google voice #. My work doesnt allow cell phone use at work. Plus I don't need to advertise my cell number on CL.

To add to your problem........On Craigslist, it takes so many "flags" to get an ad removed.
then each time after that, the number of flags to remove it decreases, to the point, that I
believe it isn't "people flagging you", but a auto response type thing from Craigslist itself.

It has gotten to the point in the past for me, that I had to kill (stop using) my Craigslist
account and make a new one to start over "clean". Remember, to clear your cookies and
your IP address etc. when & if you have to resort to this.

As horribly annoying as using Craigslist can be at times, it is still an incredible, effective
and FREE service, with no real equal.

I was going to say that I would look for ads with Cobras similar to yours, and if there is only one, tell the guy to cut it out.

Also, if you keep getting flagged... change up your ad. Make it different than the previous version, new title, differently worded description, new pics. Pain in the butt, but will fend them off for a bit

There aren't any other 93 cobras for sale in the area. I had to confirm my account this time I reposted it and it's been up for a few hours. Let see how long it lasts this time.

I have been through this many times.

Craigslist will "softblock" accounts based on various information. This could be dependant on how much you post, how frequent, how many flags you get, posting commercial in non commercial sections, etc.

Once your account falls below an adequate user threshold you will be softblocked.

Softblocking will automatically "flag" ads making the user think its somebody else doing it, when it is actually craigslist itself.

The only way to fix this is to change your IP address, clear cookies, create a new account, and use a new phone number & email address to verify.

If you have cookies stored from your old IP address, use an old phone number or email in the ad, or anything that can be linked to your old softblocked account...the new account will be softblocked instantly.

You can read up on all it here. http://www.craigsflagger.net/

Darko, did you buy the "craigsflagger" software?

If so, how did it work & what do you think of it?

I don't recommend the software because Craigslist is always adapting and changing.

There is a a lot of good information that is worth purchasing.

It would seem so. I have concluded pretty much what this software company
is saying about Craigslist, it would be nice to learn more about the details of
just how Craigslist works & how to deal with them.

Perhaps one of person should purchase the info & share it with a few others,
the expense would be much less if spread / shared with several of folks.

Plus a small group of friends working together could test & share among
themselves how things are working / not working.
