Craiglist idiots - I'm tired of it!

Glad to see I'm not alone here. I'm about the easiest dude to deal with ever, but some people are ridiculous in their demands. I guess it's the nauture of the beast with free listings, but it amazes me how some folks get through life. On the flip side, 9 out of 10 people that actually show with money are honest, friendly, and appreciative folks - in my experience.

I feel better already, thanks fellas. :)

I also hate. I've had 10 large shrubs in the free section listed for 2 weeks now and I get 40 emails with ppl who want them. i've had 1 guy show up look at them and then say he'll be bcak the next day. he never showed again. most of them say they are coming and just never show.

Yeah the worst thing you can do is put your phone number on there. I swear my phone will get 200 missed calls if I try and take a nap for an hour. Another thing I really hate is when my ad gets flagged for no reason. It seems like people call and ask if its available, you tell them "yes but I've had a lot of calls", so I think they flag it so noone can beat them to it.

How bout when they say for sale $200 obo. You
Call and offer $175 and they say im firm
On the price because ive had so many calls.
But if it still for sale after so many calls
You have it priced too high dummy!!

Yea that happens a lot thats why I always kind of dodge the interest question or lie. I've found the guys that are serious will show up right away you can tell the guys that are going to screw you over after awhile.
I was selling the rims off my lincoln mark 8 I had sooooo many fning annoying calls with that. People asking if they will fit on this car or that car... I eventually just started telling them I'm not bell tire I don't know what they will fit the specs for the lug pattern is in the add google it.

it has it problems, i probably deal with more idiots then most..but better to have it then not have it.

That was your first mistake I never talk money over the phone just go look at it offer him 175 to his face and he would of taken it.

Reminds me I've had some guy asking about my old steering wheel for over 2 weeks now... he was supposed to pick it up sunday... haven't heard from him yet lol.

How about when it turns into eBay? Price for item is listed at $200. "The last guy just offered me $300 for it, so if you want it youll have to offer more."

I love Craigslists....

Speaking of craigslists....

I just sold these two bikes for $65. each, like 10 min. ago.
The customer showed up on time, took 5 min. to look at,
ride, then hand me the cash, saying thank you! Again, it
took all of 5 min to make a $130 sale.

This was a typical craigslists sale for me.

Sounds like you are a straight shooter and good seller.

Thank you. I really do try. I believe you should be honest & straight forward - with everyone.

I also try to post up really good ads with the best photos I can produce. I have some rules /
guide lines I follow with craigslists (& most any other sale ad) and these seem to serve me well.

I love the people that send emails with there phone number saying "call me" , . So I then reply with my number and a polite msg saying if your interested give me a call between such and such time......never to be heard from again

I think living closer to a main city would net you the same results we complain about!...lol I don't even bother with CL anymore. I was basically giving a washer away, and had 5 or 6 people tell me they were coming to not show up. Big waste of my time. THe lady who did finally show was a new single mom. I gave her dishes, and a few other items to help her start her new home. I appreciate when people actually show up! SAD.

I will never understand that one. Even on forums, someone will say in a thread "I'm interested, PM me". Fuck that, my info is there, call/PM me . In the time it took to write saying "call me (xxx) xxx-xxxx" or "PM me" they could have just done it themselves! Makes no sense whatsoever. Half the time they don't have the first clue what you're talking about when you call them either, they already forgot about your ad/their supposed interest.

I have had a few smooth transactions but I've had far more headaches. I don't even bother with less expensive items anymore its just not worth the time. I tell my brother to handle it and I let him keep part or all of the money. And I learned long ago to not put my phone number.
