Hey guys my 83 gt T-Top has a crack in the rocker panel that pretty much has it seperated and a little into the floor . im guessing it comes from the body flexing over they years because it was like that when i got it. I dont want the car to flex and eventually bend so is it safe to place a jack under it for support and weld it back together? Or should i take it to a body shop and see if they can put it on a rack and make sure its welded square? I just dont want the car to launch sideways when i get it all together next year.

Yeah i think im going to take it to a shop i really wanted it for dream crusise but i dont think the shop would get it done in time even though i got the interior out of it. Thanks!

Yeah im converting it over to an 85 front end i like it a little better than the 83 but the T-tops rock.

For sure get a professional to do it-then get some subframe connectors.

its all about the t tops man ! I want to find a junk one to put its roof on my notch before I paint her !

I'll keep an eye out-there's a rotted one sitting down the road from me.

Any pics of said crack? Must be that heavy azz big block is twisting it around.:flasher:

My guess is they hit something and left the hole there and tried to jb weld it up but even i know that wasent going to hold. I figure they fixed wrecked cars worse than this so some shop should be able to do it.

Big block is next year thats why i need to get this straight and then after this get some chassis bracing so this wont happen again.

Wow! Kind of looks like they hit something and just left it. The rocker with the T-Tops is the main structure of the chassis. Kind of looks like the rocker is ripped all the way around leaving just the floor to hold the car together... I think you might have to take that to a shop to get that fixed.. Or buy a bigger tube of J.B (LOL) Also start looking for a replacement rocker I think you're going to need that.

Wow I just noticed this thread. Ahh DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR your going to ruin whats left of your chassis. You need to find a good frame shop and get your car checked out ASAP .

Took it to a frame shop and they pulled it back together and welded it solid. He said that pannel looks defective it was stamped really thin and he suggested i get one cut form another mustang and replace it to make it truely right. Thanks guys for the advice.
