couple of questions on high mileage f150 and f250

My work is getting rid of two trucks both with high miles, I am thinking on buying both to resell but not really a truck guy and don't know much about the powertrains.

First is a 2008 F250 powerstoke, reg cab long bed with 318k miles, like 200 on the motor. Probably get it for around 3-4k.

Second is a 2012 f150 5.0 reg cab long bed, 180k could probably get for around 5k.

Anyone had issues with either of these engines with high miles.

The F250 6.0 may be a great deal or may be a money pit. Depending on how well it has run and how well maintained it is factors a bunch into it.

The F150 is a solid truck, the 5.0 is a great powerplant. I have not seen any with issues from higher mileage. The early models had some issues with timing chain stretch but was resolved around 2012 IIRC.

My boss thinks I can pick them up for $2000 on the f250 and $4000 on the f150. So I think there is some money to be made.

I think that the 08 is the 6.4. I will have to check tomorrow at work.

Yep, my bad.... I was thinking the cutoff was 08 for the 6.0, its 07.

the 6.4 is much better as far as the issues that the 6.0 had but it was the first go at emissions equipment so the regen is a pain on those. Some load up the exhaust.

Depends on what I can actually get it for. Also these are In Arizona. Corp office is in South Carolina so probably take a few days to get an answer

The 6.4 has some power I had one in my 08 f450 but in my opinion it had just as many problems as my 06 f350 with the 6.0. As far as flipping you could make some money and I don't know what your work situation is or their stand point but people may get butt hurt if they find out flipping was your intentions.

Need more info if its 2wd srd cab long bed resale up here is zero, but i use trucks as trucks so id be interested for me
